As they say, “Follow the money trail”. I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but I do appreciate viewpoints that challenge the pack mentality. I gather my information from a diverse set of sources with differing perspectives. When I come across those sources, first, I look at who wrote it and who is behind the data, along with any political or financial motivations tied to those people or groups. I try to find neutral, independent, and apolitical views that don’t have something to gain from their messaging.

Then, there is trust for logical resonance. When you silence yourself and can be balanced and centered in your heart space, how does it feel when you are reading/watching/listening to/experiencing something? Does it feel good – or resonate with you? Does it make you cringe, tighten up, or feel dissonant? I’m not talking about whether it’s a positive or negative message, but whether it feels truthful to you. For some this comes easier, whereas for others this s like a muscle that needs to be trained.

Then I like to take into account historical perspective. Does this match a pattern that has happened before, and if so I’ll analyze the relevance. I’m not only pattern-matching for the specific content but for correlated pieces and certainly motivations. A corollary to “History repeats (or rhymes with) itself” is “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”

In these times, we need to be wise and discerning.  There is a lot of highly organized and deceptive disinformation out there.

Please don’t trust blindly — question with discernment. Cross-check your sources, use your intuition, and always ask yourself: What might the author or the sponsors stand to gain from expressing their viewpoints?

When we think of alternative currencies, I would dare to say that trust is one of the most important currencies. And while some currencies may not buy you a loaf of bread, they have the power to open heavy doors that enable you to achieve your goals.
